Airline of the Year - KLIA Awards 2014.

We are so thrilled to announce that Malindo Air bagged the Airline of the Year (Passenger) 2014 award at the distinctive KLIA Awards 2014 last weekend, a glitzy annual event introduced in 2006 by Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad (MAHB) in recognition of the achievements by Malaysia Airports’ partners who have shown exceptional performance in areas such as passenger movement, growth, sales, international recognition and service.

Malindo Air CEO, Mr. Chandran Rama Muthy said, “We are very honoured to be awarded as the Airline of the Year (Passenger) 2014 award. This award is widely regarded as the industry’s benchmark for excellence.

For us, the award clearly reflects a vote of confidence from the regional travellers, who acknowledge and appreciate our continuous drive for high-quality service. To be voted the Airline of the Year (Passenger) 2014 award really means something to be proud of for our 2,000-strong workforce across all ticketing stations and airport hubs in Malaysia.”

"This award is certainly a great honour for all of Malindo Air’s dedicated employees who have committed themselves wholeheartedly to the advancement of Malindo Air and have embraced the challenge together to achieve an excellent service standard. This award will serve as further motivation for Malindo Air and our employees to remain committed and improve further, while it will also mark another milestone as recognition of our sustained long-term development programme. Malindo Air will continually embrace new challenges to serve customers with more innovative products and high-quality services," added Chandran.

“Our expansion programme is on track. In addition to our current 11 ATRs and 13 Boeing 737NGs, we are getting another three more B737NGs before the end of the year. With more aircraft, we will be able to add more destinations. Our expansion has been nothing but exponential as we flew 900,000 people in 2013, our first year of operation and it increased to 2.5 million in 2014, and we anticipated a staggering jump to 4 million by the end of 2015. Our coverage at a frantic pace to a total of 10 countries in the region by the year-end contributes to the hike. Importantly, this also means we are opening up more job opportunities for Malaysians,” he also said.
